  On Monday in a ceremony attended by Mayor William Scanlon, City Clerk Kathleen Connolly, and all of the City Councilors, The Beverly Police Department led by Chief Mark Ray swore in its nine newest Reserve Police Officers.

• Rantoul Street Traffic Stop Leads to Firearms Charges

  On Wednesday March 13, 2013 Officers conducted a traffic stop and recovered a .45 caliber handgun.

  On Tuesday March 12, 2013 at approximately 12:25 hours, Officers were dispatched to 224 Elliott Street (Stop & Shop) for a past larceny.

• Robbery at Cabot Street Dunkin Donuts

  On March 11, 2013 officers from the Beverly Police Department responded to 188 Cabot Street (Dunkin Donuts) for a reported robbery attempt.

• Beverly Police Thank Local Businesses for their Participation in Sticker Shock Program

  On Tuesday February 19, 2013 at the Community Advisory Council (CAC) meeting, the Beverly Police Department recognized local businesses for their participation in the Sticker Shock program, which was designed to prevent the consumption of alcohol by minors.

• Beverly Police and NEMLEC Serve High Risk Search Warrant, Make Drug Arrest

  This search warrant and arrest was the result of an approximate five week investigation by Beverly Police detectives. Masse is charged with trafficking in cocaine, possession of firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without an FID card, defacing a firearm serial number, and firearms security violation. Masse also had four active warrants for his arrest.

• Armed Robbery with Knife at Rite Aid Pharmacy

  The suspect was described as a white male, possibly 5'8" or 5'9", with a slim build and wearing a red ski mask, blue hooded sweatshirt, dark blue jeans and dark colored gloves. The suspect is believed to have gotten away with approximately $538 in cash.
