Armed Robbery with Knife at Rite Aid Pharmacy


On Monday February 4, 2013 at approximately 8:20PM, Beverly Police responded to the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 377 Cabot Street for a report of an armed robbery involving a knife. Upon their arrival the clerk told officers that a man walked into the store wearing a red ski mask and holding a large knife, estimated to have a 12 inch blade. This man walked behind the counter at the front of the store and demanded that the clerk open the cash registers. The clerk opened two registers and the man reached in and grabbed the cash. The man then said to the clerk, "Have a nice night ma'am." and fled out of the store, heading south on Cabot Street towards Pickett Street. Officers searched the surrounding neighborhoods. but were unable to locate the suspect.


The suspect was described as a white male, possibly 5'8" or 5'9", with a slim build and wearing a red ski mask, blue hooded sweatshirt, dark blue jeans and dark colored gloves. The suspect is believed to have gotten away with approximately $538 in cash. This incident remains under investigation at this time.
